Makeup student photography final session

Last night was my last evening with the current makeup students, the next course will start early next year.  I have had a thoroughly enjoyable time and met some very talented makeup artists, I wish them all the best for the future and hope that we will work together in the near future.  

Child Modelling Portfolio Photographs

I was asked to take some portfolio photographs of Lenny for his Mum to take to model agencies.  We have a fabulous time taking lots of photos and having fun.  Lenny is a real natural, I wish him well with the modelling.  Here are a few of the images from the session.

Family Photography Session

Low key portrait photography

I had a busy day on Saturday taking photos at an autumn fair and editing the photos for the calendar.  On Sunday I decided it was about time that I updated the photos of our kids and got a lovely image of both of them.  I wanted to go for low key lighting to create a bit of atmosphere by using shadows.  I edited the image to desaturate most of the colour out then tinted the image to bring selective colours back into the image.

Makeover photography for makeup students

Another great session with the makeup students, I tried out a blue gel on the background light to give the students a different look for their portfolios. It seemed to work very effectively.

Cheerleader Calendar Photography

I had a fantastic day on Wednesday taking photos of a cheerleading squad for a calendar, they are a great bunch of girls and fab to work with, it was a cold November day and they had very little on when posing for a car wash photo....you can't tell on the photograph!  I have attached a couple of images from the session.  Best wishes to the girls and thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable session.

Dance Student Photos

I had a fab session today, one baby session with a lovely natured four month old and two sessions with dance students, I have attached a few images.  

My current studio space has a very low ceiling so I am unable to do some of the movement shots that I would really love to photograph but I was really happy with these images, I wanted to try a different lighting technique and I was really happy with the result.   I look forward to working with both girls in the new year where we can do some dance action photos without the risk of knocking themselves out on the low ceiling!

Makeup student photography

Another good evening at the college with the students, I wanted to vary their portfolio so I took some low key photos in contrast with the high key portraits taken over the last two sessions.  It will be a good way to vary their portfolio, I plan to use some gels next session as well.  I love to experiment with lighting and I absolutely love taking photos of people!

Family photography

Saturday was one of the rare occasions that one of my kids came into the studio and I am really pleased that she did as I was able to take this beautiful photo.
